Smriti Mandhana’s excellent form resulted in her breaking into the all-time top ten in the ICC ratings for batting in women’s ODIs.
Mandhana began the 2025 Women’s World Cup with a rating of 818, at that point her career-best. On the all-time list, she was just outside the top 10 – only nine rating points behind Lisa Sthalekar’s 827.

A quiet start to the World Cup – eight against Sri Lanka, 23 against Pakistan, and 23 against South Africa – resulted in her rating dropping to 801, then 791, then 779. However, she soon regained with 88 against Australia and 80 against England, to soar to 793 and then 809.

She followed these with 109 to help India defeat New Zealand and qualify for the semi-final, and an unbeaten 34 in the washout against Bangladesh, The two innings helped her pip Sthalekar by one rating point and break into the top ten with 828.

A record-breaking year in ODIs for Smriti Mandhana
Mandhana is having an excellent year in 2025. She became the first batter to score a thousand runs in a calendar year in women’s ODIs, and now has 1,293 runs with more than two months to go.
However, on the all-time list, she is still some distance away from Karen Rolton (901) or even Mithali Raj (880), the only Indian above her. It is worth a mention that among active cricketers, Nat Sciver-Brunt (804 in 2023) is the only one to have crossed the 800-mark. On the current list, Ash Gardner (731) is the closest to Mandhana’s rating.
