Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine make 350th and 300th international appearance

Bates made her international debut back in 2006 and has gone on to become one of the greats in the game. Ahead of the clash against the Proteas, she had made 5,896 runs in 172 ODIs with 13 hundreds and 37 fifties. Bates has also scored 4,716 runs in 177 T20Is, including one hundred. She is yet to play a Test match.

Bates made her 350th appearance for New Zealand on Monday, but had an outing to forget, getting dismissed for a golden duck. Taking strike on the first ball of the match, Bates was pinned lbw by Marizanne Kapp as New Zealand slipped to 0-1. It was her fourth golden duck in ODI cricket.

Alongside Bates, Sophie Devine also reached a landmark during the game. It was her 300th international match for New Zealand, also becoming just the seventh woman to play 300 or more international matches. Devine, who also made her debut in 2006, is playing her 154th ODI. She has also represented the country in 146 T20Is.
