India beat Pakistan by 88 runs at the Premadasa Stadium to extend their ODI head-to-head record to 12-0. They were bowled out for 247 after Fatima Sana won the toss and opted to field. Each of the Indian top eight made at least 19, but Harleen Deol (46) was the only one to go past 35.
India were in a spot of bother at 203-7 with only 27 balls to go before Richa Ghosh smashed a 20-ball unbeaten 35. For Pakistan, Diana Baig claimed 4-69, Sadia Iqbal 2-47, and Sana 2-38.
The Pakistan chase lost steam after Kranti Goud’s (3-20) early strikes reduced them to 26-3. Only Sidra Amin (81) put up any resistance as Sneh Rana (2-38) and Deepti Sharma (3-45) kept chipping away at the wickets. In the end, Pakistan were bowled out for 159. Goud was named the Player of the Match.

Women’s World Cup 2025: Updated points table after IND vs PAK
As a result of the win, India leapfrogged Australia to secure the top spot on the points table. However, England and Bangladesh, both of whom are two points behind India, have a match in hand. Pakistan, meanwhile, stayed at sixth place despite having lost both games.
India’s next match is against South Africa at Visakhapatnam on October 9, while Pakistan next play Australia in Colombo on October 8.
