Biography

Richa Ghosh is an Indian wicket-keeper batter who has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in women's cricket. Known for her fearless batting approach and dynamic wicket-keeping skills, Ghosh has risen rapidly in the Indian circuit and is now a regular in the team, also being part of the squad for the upcoming Women's Cricket World Cup 2025.

Born on September 28, 2003, in Siliguri, West Bengal, Ghosh started playing cricket early by being influenced by watching her father, Manabendra Ghosh, play club cricket. She debuted for the Bengal senior team at 14, and enhanced her fundamental abilities as a hard-hitting lower-middle order batter and a reliable wicket-keeper. At just 16 years old, Richa was named in India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2020 as the only uncapped player in the team. She also participated in the inaugural U-19 Women's T20 World Cup in 2023. She is regarded as one of the future mainstays of the Indian Women's Team.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru later signed her for her aggressive batting and rapid glovework, and she contributed significantly to their title-winning season in 2024. Aside from RCB, she has played in the Women's Hundred for the London Spirit and Birmingham Phoenix, as well as for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Women's BBL.
