After South Africa swept the Test series 2-0, India won the ODIs 2-1. The two teams will now clash in five T20Is between December 9 and 19. All matches will begin at 7pm local time.

India vs South Africa: Team news
A neck injury had kept Indian T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill out of most of the first Test as well as the entirety of the second Test and the ODI series. However, the selectors included Gill in the T20I squad, and he is all set to return.

Hardik Pandya, who has not played since his injury at the Asia Cup, has returned to action, for Baroda in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He is also part of the Indian squad.
South Africa’s selection was highlighted by the returns of Anrich Nortje and David Miller. However, Tony de Zorzi had picked up an injury during the second ODI that ruled him out of the third ODI as well the T20I series, while Kwena Maphaka withdrew from the tour. South Africa named Lutho Sipamla as a replacement.
