Royal Challengers Bengaluru won a thrilling game at the Wankhede, beating Mumbai Indians in the 2025 Indian Premier League - here is the updated IPL points table after today's match.
Batting first, RCB lost Phil Salt early, but quick knocks from Devdutt Padikkal (37 in 22) and Virat Kohli (67 in 42) saw them race to 95 in just 8.5 overs. After Padikkal’s dismissal, skipper Rajat Patidar stole the show with a 32-ball 64 that had four sixes and five boundaries. The finishing touches were provided by wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma, who scored an unbeaten 40 in 19 balls, helping RCB post 221-5 in their quota of overs.
The match also marked the comeback from injury for Jasprit Bumrah, who was the only bowler from Mumbai to concede below 10 runs an over in the innings. He gave 29 in his four overs.
In reply, Mumbai did not get an ideal start, with Rohit Sharma notching up yet another low score. He made 17 in nine before he was bowled by Yash Dayal. Mumbai kept losing regular wickets and were 99-4 by the 12th over before Tilak Varma (56 in 29) and Hardik Pandya (42 in 15) notched up an 89-run stand in just 34 deliveries. However, the two were dismissed in quick succession, and Mumbai could not recover, eventually losing the clash by 12 runs.

It was MI's fourth loss in five games in the season, while RCB continued their excellent run, winning their third match in four outings.
