Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Chennai Super Kings by two runs in Match 52 of IPL 2025. Here's what the IPL points table looks like after the result.
RCB went into the match without Josh Hazlewood. Asked to bat first, they scored 213-5. It was Romario Shepherd’s 14-ball 53 not out from No.7 which helped them cross the 200-run mark. Shepherd hit the joint-second-fastest player fifty in tournament history.
CSK, already out of the playoffs race, started strongly thanks to 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre. He brought up his fifty off 25 balls, becoming the third youngest to the landmark in the IPL. When Mhatre was dismissed for a 48-ball 94 in the 17th over, CSK were well placed at 172-3. But some effective death bowling from the hosts saw CSK agonisingly fall short by two runs
