Punjab Kings will meet Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2025 on Sunday (May 1) at Ahmedabad: find match updates including live score, commentary, toss updates and more from the PBKS vs MI Qualifier 2, here.
Update 9:30pm: Match will start at 9:45pm. No overs have been lost.
Update 8:25pm: Scratch the previous update. It's drizzling again.
Update 8:10pm local time: Play to start at 8:25pm. No overs lost.
Update 7:55pm local time: Covers and rain both are still on. But the rain seems light enough for ground staff and match officials to be on the turf, some of them without umbrellas.
Update 7:35pm local time: Start of play has been delayed due to rain. Only the square is covered though, as of now.
PBKS capitulated in Qualifier 1 against RCB, bowled out for 101 and losing the match with 10 overs remaining. The last (and the only) time Punjab appeared in an IPL final was in 2014. To repeat (and potentially go a step further) that, they'll need to beat five-time champions Mumbai Indians in a do-or-die clash today.
MI have soared through to Qualifier 2 after losing four out of their first five matches of the season. However, they've not made the IPL final since 2020, the last time they won the tournament. They'll be itching to change that and go ahead of CSK as the most successful IPL team.

IPL Qualifier 2 – Punjab Kings v Mumbai Indians: Team news
Only three Punjab batters made it into double digits against RCB in Mullanpur, and none reached 30. Conditions in Ahmedabad shouldn't be as spicy, however, and Punjab would expect their captain Shreyas Iyer to continue his exceptional form away from home.
Jonny Bairstow partnered with Rohit Sharma at the top for a blistering opening stand in the Eliminator. With Suryakumar Yadav also in great form, MI would expect the top three to do the bulk of the scoring for them.
The last time MI and PBKS met this season, Punjab chased down 185 with ease, losing just three wickets and winning with 10 balls remaining.
