We are past the halfway mark of IPL 2026, which has largely been dominated by Indian players so far. But how have the 15 that won the T20 World Cup earlier this year fared so far?
Most of India's T20 World Cup 2026 winners haven't had the best of IPL 2026 seasons. Ahead of the match between the Punjab Kings and the Rajasthan Royals on April 28, of the 11 batters with more than 300 runs this season, 10 were Indians, but only three were from the T20 World Cup-winning squad.
Similarly, among the wicket-takers, eight had taken more than 10 wickets, five of those Indian players, but none from the 15 that won the T20 World Cup in March.
All numbers as on April 28, 2026
How have India's T20 World Cup winners fared in IPL 2026 so far?
Suryakumar Yadav
7 matches, 157 runs at 22.42, SR 142.72, HS: 51, 1 fifty
The T20 World Cup-winning captain has had a season to forget so far, failing to get going for the Mumbai Indians, who are stationed at second from the bottom of the points table.
Abhishek Sharma
8 matches, 380 runs at 54.28, SR 212.29, HS: 135*, 1 hundred, 3 fifties
Abhishek Sharma has been emphatic in the ongoing season and has been in the top half of the Orange Cap list. Even with Travis Head not at his best, Abhishek has consistently provided SRH with rapid starts.
Ishan Kishan
8 matches, 312 runs at 39.00, SR 198.72, HS: 91, 3 fifties
Ishan Kishan is having a great run as well, and along with Abhishek, has kept SRH in the hunt for a playoff spot. He is also among the only three batters from India's T20 World Cup-winning squad with more than 300 runs in the season so far.
Sanju Samson
8 matches, 304 runs at 50.66, SR 169.83, HS: 115*, 2 hundreds
Samson is enjoying a great first season with CSK despite the franchise's struggles. He has hit two hundreds already, and there's still a fair bit of the tournament left. For Chennai to make the playoffs, Samson needs to continue in a similar vein with other batters misfiring.
Rinku Singh
8 matches, 215 runs at 53.75, SR 141.44, HS: 83*, 2 fifties
Rinku Singh has slowly come to life in IPL 2026 after misfiring at the T20 World Cup. He has played knocks of 53* and 83* in back-to-back KKR wins.
Tilak Varma
7 matches, 181 runs at 30.16, SR 170.75, HS: 101*, 1 hundred
Tilak Varma struggled at the start of the season but has slowly picked up pace, also hitting his first IPL hundred in the process.
Axar Patel
8 matches, 31 runs at 6.20, SR 100, HS: 26* | 7 wickets at 28.57, ER 8.33, BBI: 2-18
Axar Patel has had a disastrous first half of the IPL 2026 season with Delhi Capitals. He has shuffled all across the middle order to find form, but hasn't managed to. His bowling hasn't been as effective as he would have liked to either.
Shivam Dube
8 matches, 150 runs at 30.00, SR 140.18, HS: 45* | 1 wicket at 37.00, ER 12.33, BBI: 1-30
Shivam Dube was among India's best players at the ICC event but has struggled to replicate that in the IPL. He hasn't been his usual six-hitting threat, managing just six maximums so far in 107 deliveries faced.
Hardik Pandya
6 matches, 97 runs at 19.40, SR 140.57, HS: 40 | 3 wickets at 63.33, ER 12.66, BBI: 1-18
Hardik Pandya looked close to his best with the bat at the start of the IPL season but has faded away rather quickly since. He hasn't had much to show with the ball either, and under his captaincy, MI are close to the bottom of the IPL table.
Washington Sundar
8 matches, 157 runs at 31.40, SR 148.11, HS: 55, 1 fifty | 1 wicket at 51.00, ER 9.87, BBI: 1-27
Washington has had a mixed season for GT, with just one wicket to show for, but has played a few decent knocks with the bat, including scoring his maiden IPL half-century.
Arshdeep Singh
8 matches, 8 wickets at 41.12, ER 10.96, BBI: 3-22
Arshdeep Singh has been wayward and struggled to contain the flow of runs this term. This has been his worst IPL season in terms of economy rate so far.
Jasprit Bumrah
7 matches, 2 wickets at 105.00, ER 8.07, BBI: 1-15
Surprisingly, Jasprit Bumrah hasn't managed to be among the wickets for MI this season, taking six matches to open his account. He still has just two in seven matches.

Kuldeep Yadav
8 matches, 7 wickets at 33.71, ER 10.26, BBI: 2-31
Kuldeep has conceded two more runs per over this term than his overall IPL economy rate. He has also picked up just seven wickets in eight matches.
Mohammed Siraj
8 matches, 8 wickets at 28.75, ER 7.93, BBI: 2-23
Siraj is the top wicket-taker among the Indian bowlers who played at the T20 World Cup. He has also been the most economical of the lot.
Varun Chakravarthy
6 matches, 7 wickets at 26.57, ER 8.85, BBI: 3-14
Varun took four matches to pick up his first wicket of the season, but has since taken seven wickets in three games.
