What were the talking points in RCB vs LSG, IPL 2026 Match 23?

The first talking point of the day came before the first ball was bowled; for the first time in nine years, Virat Kohli was not in RCB's starting XI; an injury sustained in the previous game meant he started on the Impact Player list. Rishabh Pant retired hurt after being hit on the elbow by Josh Hazlewood, and only returned to make one off six balls.

Apart from that, the RCB juggernaut simply rolled on. Having won three of their four games coming into this one, a victory promptly sent them to the top of the table. LSG meanwhile, have some real thinking to do, as the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram flatter to deceive.
