The sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League kicked off in Colombo on July 17.
The sixth edition of the LPL was supposed to be played in 2025 was postponed to mid-2026 in order to allow the Sri Lankan cricket board to work on infrastructural developments for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament has consisted of five teams since inception, as a representation of the five cities of Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Jaffna and Dambulla.
Here are all the players from Pakistan in the sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League:
Mohammad Haris - Colombo Kaps
The wicketkeeper-batter from Pakistan has been with the Kandy Royals since 2023. In his first season with the franchise, Haris scored 213 runs in seven innings with two fifties to his name. His performances were instrumental for them to lift the title. In 2024, he could score 188 runs across 10 innings.
Shahnawaz Dahani - Colombo Kaps
Dahani was a part of Dambulla Aura in LPL 2023, in which he picked four wickets in four games. However, after entering the auction pool before the 2024 season, he went unsold. Dahani was then picked by the Colombo Kaps ahead of the ongoing season.
Sahibzada Farhan - Dambulla Sixers
Farhan, who was not included in the 16 Pakistan players in The Hundred auction list, was signed as the overseas icon player for the Dambulla Sixers ahead of the 2026 season, marking his LPL debut. He scored 23 in his first appearance for the Sixers – a game they won by 18 runs.
Mohammad Wasim - Dambulla Sixers
The Pakistani speedster was picked by the Dambulla Sixers in the player draft ahead of the LPL 2026 season. He scalped two wickets in his first match, giving away 39 runs.
Haider Ali - Galle Gallants
After featuring in the 2022 edition, Haider missed the 2023 edition in order to play County cricket in England. He was then drafted by the Dambulla Thunder in 2024, but missed that edition due to national commitments. However, he was picked by the Galle Gallants ahead of the 2026 season.
Mohammad Nawaz - Galle Gallants
The Pakistan all-rounder was signed by the Galle Gallants as their platinum overseas player ahead of the 2026 season. He was a part of Colombo Strikers in 2023. He scored a brisk 9-ball 21 in their opening fixture against Jaffna Kings.
Akif Javed - Galle Gallants
The left-arm speedster marked his first appearance in the tournament after being signed by the Galle Gallants for the sixth edition. He picked a four-wicket haul in the first fixture of the season, giving away 40 runs against the Colombo Kaps.
Shaheen Shah Afridi - Kandy Royals
The left-arm pacer from Pakistan joined the Kandy Royals as a direct signing as opposed to going via the player draft in his first LPL season. He was expensive on his LPL debut, giving away 41 runs in just three overs.
