New Zealand achieve first series white-wash over England since 1983
Having already secured an unassailable 2-0 lead, New Zealand started the series finale strongly, bowling England out for 222 in 40.2 overs. The chase, however, was far from straightforward. The hosts were reduced to 196-8, but tailenders Zakary Foulkes (14*) and Blair Tickner (18*) held their nerve in a tense finish to guide the Blackcaps to victory and complete a memorable series whitewash.
This is the first time in 42 years that New Zealand have clean-swept England in an ODI series. The last time they did it was in 1983, when Lance Cairns and Glenn Turner starred with eight wickets at 9.87 and 216 runs at 72 respectively.
