Lahore Qalandars entered the playoffs as the fourth-ranked team, with five wins and four defeats, including a washout. First, they beat Karachi Kings in the Eliminator and then handed a 95-run drubbing to defending champions Islamabad United in Qualifier 2 to reach the final. They will be eyeing their third title, having won in 2022 and 2023.

Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators' journey to the final is a story of a remarkable turnaround. After winning against Peshawar Zalmi, they succumbed to heavy defeats against Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings. Thereafter, they won six of their remaining seven matches to finish the league stage at the top of the table. This will be their first PSL final in six years after winning the title in 2019 under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy.

QG have suffered an injury scare after Hasan Nawaz twisted his right ankle while playing football in practice. The mishap leaves him doubtful for the final, with Haseebullah Khan or Khawaja Nafay likely to replace him if he is ruled out. However, Hasan has recovered in time and retains his place in the playing XI. Sikandar Raza also comes back, replacing Shakib Al Hasan, after featuring for Zimbabwe in their one-off Test against England.
Mohammad Wasim is unfit, forcing LQ to replace him with Khurram Shahzad.
