Pakistan Super League team auction: When and where will it happen?
The team auction will take place today - January 8 - at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad. The event is scheduled to start at 4:15 pm local time, which translates to 4:45 pm India time and 11:15 am UK time.
What is the PSL team auction?
The PSL is expanding, with two new teams set to join the existing six. The auction is where the two new teams will find owners and a home.
According to PSL CEO Salman Naseer, among the 12 bidders that applied for the first round of the process, which was a technical round, 10 have been shortlisted for the auction. He also believes this would be the first time that sporting teams would be sold in a televised auction process.
According to a PCB statement, "the bidders include diverse pool of businesses ranging from areas like agrobusiness, telecommunication, real estate, a software company from the United States and Tech companies from Pakistan and abroad."

The 10 bidders who will participate in the PSL team auction are:
Aim Next inc - Mr. Umar Mushtaq and Mr. Ali Mushtaq Deharki Sugar Mills - Mr. Makhdoom Syed Ali Mahmud FKS - Mr. Fawad Sarwar Inverex – Mr. Muhammad Zakir Ali i2c - Mr. Amir Wain Jazz - Mr. Amir Ibrahim OZ Developers - Mr. Hamza Majeed Prism Developers – CEO Mr. Masood Alvi VGO TEL - Mr. Naveed Gaba Walee Technologies - Mr. Ahsan Tahir
The PCB has shortlisted six cities which the successful bidders can choose from as the home base of their franchise. The six cities are Faisalabad, Gilgit, Hyderabad, Muzaffarabad, Rawalpindi and Sialkot.
The successful bidders with then own the rights to their team for 10 years.
