Today's PSL 2026 match: Who are the players to watch out for?

Lahore Qalandars vs Quetta Gladiators, Karachi, April 17, 7:00pm local time

Lahore return to action after a six-day gap, and are currently seventh in the table albeit with a game in hand. Mustafizur Rahman will not be available today as he is with the Bangladesh ODI squad currently in action against New Zealand. That could mean a return to the XI for Haris Rauf, who missed their last game. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has been solid with the ball, and is the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the competition at the moment. Lahore's top-scorer this season is uncapped opener Mohammad Naeem, with 104 runs in five games. Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman in particular will need to step up in that top-order.

Four losses in six games may have Quetta worried, and the last game saw a bit of a batting order muddle as Ahsan Ali played his first PSL game in four years and opened, pushing youngster Shamyl Hussain to No.5 in order to keep Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz at three and four. Ironically, the batters have been doing the bulk of the heavy lifting; Nawaz and captain Saud Shakeel have been the most consistent. Quetta's bowling has let them down a touch this season. Usman Tariq will need to come good sooner rather than later, while Alzarri Joseph has been fairly leaky.
