Having started with four defeats in their debut season, the Hyderabad Kingsmen went into a stunning run to make it to the playoffs on the final day of the league stage, as the fourth-ranked team. They then won both the Eliminators, and are one win away from a maiden title. For that, HK will rely on captain Marnus Labuschagne, whose decision to promote himself to the top was key to their turnaround; Usman Khan, their highest scorer who has struck at 164; the perennially dangerous Glenn Maxwell; and their two seamers – the young Hunain Shah and the senior pro Mohammad Ali.
Peshawar Zalmi, on the other hand, have lost only one game in PSL 2026 (that too after they had already qualified, to the Lahore Qalandars). Captain Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis are the leading run-scorers – not only for PZ but across all teams – and are 140 runs clear of anyone else. They will be backed by the guile of Sufiyan Muqeem, the highest wicket-taker of PSL 2026; the pace of Ali Raza, especially at the death; and the all-round skills of Iftikhar Ahmed.
