Quetta Gladiators open account, Karachi Kings rise to top of table
QG picked up two points to get off the mark with a 40-run win against Hyderabad Kingsmen. QG rode on half-centuries from Shamyl Hussain (54 in 41) and Hasan Nawaz (53 in 40) to post 174-8 even as Riley Meredith claimed 3-38 and Maheesh Theekshana’s four overs went for 2-24.
In response, HK slumped to 57-5 against Abrar Ahmed (3-23) and Ahmed Daniyal (2-13) before Irfan Khan (33 in 25) and Hammad Azam (31 in 19) pushed them to 134-8.
Later at night, Lahore Qalandars scored 128-9 on a difficult surface as Mir Hamza (2-14) and Adam Zampa (2-11) made scoring difficult for them. Despite Shaheen Shah Afridi’s (4-18) excellent bowling, Muhammad Waseem (38 in 37) kept KK in the hunt: the chase was completed with three balls and four wickets in hand.

Karachi are now second in the table behind Lahore Qalandars, who soundly beat Hyderabad Kingsmen on opening day.
