The first day of the first round of the competition was washed out across the country. At the Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar, no play was possible on day two (October 7) either, and Peshawar-Sialkot match at the venue only got underway on day three.

Batting first, Peshawar lost two quick wickets in openers Sahibzada Farhana and Maaz Sadaqat. Waqar Ahmed and Israrullah then put on 79 for the third wicket, before the latter fell to bring skipper and Pakistan international Mohammad Rizwan to the crease.

Rizwan finished day three unbeaten on 21, in the company of Adil Amin (13*), as Peshawar reached 154-4.

Amin was eventually dismissed on day four for a patient 33, off 158 balls to bring another Pakistan international wicketkeeper in Mohammad Haris to the crease. Haris's most recent engagement was the Asia Cup, where Pakistan lost the final to India.

Having come together at 213-5, Rizwan and Haris ended up seeing out the rest of Peshawar's innings; they put on a 143-run stand and Rizwan declared after Haris reached a century, his first in first-class cricket. The captain was not out on 123, scoring his 15th first-class century (including three in Test cricket).

Their score was 376-5 in 102.4 overs, and there was only enough time remaining for Sialkot to bat 29 overs – they made 156-3 as the match ended in a draw.
