Here's a round-up of all the action from day three of the fifth round of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season.

Group A

Abhishek Reddy stretched his maiden century into a double ton, taking Andhra to 567-6 before declaring their innings.

Odisha set a 465-run target for Nagaland after declaring their second innings at 350-5, riding on Swastik Samal’s 169 and captain Subhranshu Senapati’s 137. Nagaland reached stumps at 41-1.

Replying to Tamil Nadu’s 455 in the first innings, Uttar Pradesh’s effort was spearheaded by Rinku Singh, who is just two runs short of a first-class hundred. Out-of-favour India fast-bowling all-rounder Shivam Mavi, having hit his maiden first-class century in his previous innings against Nagaland nearly two weeks ago, followed it up with a 62-ball 54. Abhishek Goswami (79) is the other half-centurion from the innings so far.

Vidarbha’s second innings ended at 272, with Yash Rathod continuing his stellar first-class start with 91. Chasing 276, Baroda slipped to 73-5.

Jharkhand 328 all out (Sharandeep Singh 115, K.V. Sasikanth 4-67) & 34-2 (Kumar Kushagra 16, Saurabh Kumar 1-3) vs Andhra 567-6d (Abhishek Reddy 247, Rishav Raj 2-86). Jharkhand trail by 210 runs.

Odisha 275 all out (Anil Parida 118*, Imliwati Lemtur 3-26) & 350-5d (Swastik Samal 169, Vino Zhimomi) vs Nagaland 161 all out (Nischal D 72, Govinda Poddar 3-22) & 41-1 (Hem Chetri 20*, Badal Biswal 1-15). Nagaland need 424 runs to win.

Tamil Nadu 455 all out (Baba Indrajith 149, Kartik Yadav 5-103 ) vs Uttar Pradesh 339-6 (Rinku Singh 98*, P Vidyuth 3-48). Uttar Pradesh by 116 runs.

Vidarbha 169 all out & 272 (Yash Rathod 91, Atit Sheth 5-47) vs Baroda 166 all out (Vishnu Solanki 59*, Ganesh Bhosle 3-30) & 73-5 (Sukirt Pandey 35*, Darshan Nalkande 4-7. Baroda need 203 runs to win.

Group B

Punjab, following on, were dismissed for 107 as Maharashtra sealed a 92-run win. Former India U19 spinner Vicky Ostwal returned a career-best 6-26, while Rajvardhan Hangargekar’s earlier five-for had set up a commanding 199-run first-innings lead.

Despite Abhinav Tejrana’s 118, Goa were bowled out for 358 in reply to Saurashtra’s 585-7 declared and were forced to follow on. They finished the day at 77-2. Saurashtra's Yuvrajsinh Dodiya claimed six wickets in the first innings.

Madhya Pradesh were bowled out for 192 in response to Kerala’s 281. Kerala ended the day strongly at 226-3, anchored by unbeaten knocks from Sachin Baby (85*) and Baba Aparajith (89*), both approaching centuries.

Chandigarh, following on after conceding a 222-run lead, were bowled out for 140. Shikhar Shetty took 5-61 in the second innings, while Shreyas Gopal’s 7-73 had set up Karnataka’s advantage in the first innings.

Maharashtra 350 all out (Arshin Kulkarni 133, Gurnoor Brar 4-115) vs Punjab 151 (Anmol Malhotra 35, Rajvardhan Hangargekar 5-44) & 107 (Abhinav Sharma 23, Vicky Ostwal 6-26). Maharashtra won by an innings and 92 runs.

Saurashtra 585-7d (Prerak Mankad 155*, Darshan Misal 4-195) vs Goa 358 (Abhinav Tejrana 118, Yuvrajsinh Dodiya 6-98) & 77-2 (Manthan Khutkar 34*, Jaydev Unadkat 1-12). Goa trail by 150 runs.

Kerala 281 (Baba Aparajith 98, Mohd Arshad Khan 4-54) & 226-3 (Baba Aparajith 89*, Saransh Jain 1-42) vs Madhya Pradesh 192 (Saransh Jain 67, Eden Apple Tom 4-55). Kerala lead by 315 runs.

Karnataka 547-8 (Smaran Ravichandran 227*, Jagjit Singh Sindhu 2-70) vs Chandigarh 222 (Manan Vohra 106*, Shreyas Gopal 7-73) & 140 (Shivam Bhamri 43, Shikhar Shetty 5-61). Karnataka won by an innings and 185 runs.

Group C

Services declared their second innings at 283, setting up a 378-run target. Haryana, in reply, slipped to 136-6, and a victory from here seems highly improbable.

Bengal made 442 in reply to Assam’s 200 in the first innings, thanks to out-of-favour India white-ball spinner Shahbaz Ahmed’s second first-class hundred and Sumanta Gupta’s 97.

Tripura were bowled out for 136 and 193 in response to Railways’ 446-9 declared, losing by an innings. Raj Choudhary (4-30 and 5-35) was Railways’ bowling hero.

Chasing Gujarat’s 344-run target in the fourth innings, Uttarakhand are 43-0.

Assam 200 (Swarupam Purkayastha 62, Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal 3-24) & 98-3 (Denish Das 63*, Mohammed Shami 2-29) vs Bengal 442 (Shahbaz Ahmed 101, Sumanta Gupta 97, Rituraj Biswas 2-40). Assam trail by 144 runs.

Tripura 136 (Vijay Shankar 44*, Raj Choudhary 4-30) & 193 (Swapnil Singh 41, Raj Choudhary 5-35) vs Railways 446-9 (Bhargav Merai 160, Abhijit Sarkar 4-69). Railways won by an innings and 117 runs.

Gujarat 324-8d (Jaymeet Patel 100, Mayank Mishra 3-54) & 291-5d (Aarya Desai 80, Mayank Mishra 3-78) vs Uttarakhand 272 (Kunal Chandela 116, Vishal Jayswal 3-29) & 43-0 (Aarav Mahajan 27*, Chintan Gaja 0-1). Uttarakhand need 301 runs to win.

Group D

In response to Chhattisgarh’s 585-6 declared, Himachal Pradesh reached stumps on day three at 274-4, aided by an unbeaten century from Ankit Kalsi.

Puducherry are in front of an imminent innings defeat against Mumbai after being reduced to 231-6 following on, with a deficit of 267 still to overcome. They could have been in an even more precarious position if not for Aman Khan’s 44-ball 86 from No. 7.

Delhi were bowled out for 296 in response to Rajasthan’s 570-7 declared.

Jammu & Kashmir did well to bowl out Hyderabad for 121 after posting just 170 in the first innings. Riding on the slender lead, they scored 422 in the second innings, with Abdul Samad scoring a century. Hyderabad slipped to 169-7 while chasing 472.

Rajasthan 570-7d (Sachin Yadav 130, Simarjeet Singh 3-81) vs Delhi 296 (Arpit Rana, Vaibhav Kandpal 62, Jaideep Singh 3-36). Delhi trail by 274 runs.
