Ranji Trophy 2025-26: Which teams are on top?
India's premier first-class competition resumed after the break earlier this month, and only one round of the Elite league stage remains. Bihar won the Plate Group final against Manipur by 568 runs, the third-biggest first-class win on Indian soil, to take the title and secure promotion to the Elite Group for next season.
Of the 32 teams in the four Elite groups, the top two from each group will make it to the quarterfinals. Bengal (Group C) and Mumbai (Group D) are the two teams that have already secured passage to the next stage of the competition. Andhra remain favourites to qualify from Group A, with Jharkhand and Vidarbha battling it out for the second spot.
Group B is the most intriguing, as only five points separate the top four teams. Adding to the drama, the top two – Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh – face off in the final round while Karnataka and Saurashtra play teams further down the table.
After the first six rounds, Delhi's Ayush Doseja is the leading run-scorer in the Elite competition with 790 runs, and Gujarat's Siddarth Desai has the most wickets with 41. Armaan Jaffer (Mizoram, 717 runs) and Bishworjit Konthoujam (Manipur, 24 wickets) finished as the respective toppers in the Plate Group.

The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 will be telecast live on the Star Sports Khel TV channel in India, while live streaming for the match is available on the Jio Hotstar app and website.
