Round three of the 2025/26 Ranji Trophy began on November 1; here's a round-up of all the action from day one.
Elite Group A
Test-capped wicketkeeper KS Bharat (93) fell short of a century, but put on 161 with Abhishek Reddy for Andhra against Odisha. Tamil Nadu left-hander Pradosh Ranjan Paul picked up from his unbeaten double ton last time out to score 113, with veteran Baba Indrajith unbeaten on 94 at stumps against defending champions Vidarbha.
Jharkhand were only able to bat 31 overs vs Nagaland due to weather and light interruptions.

- Andhra 222-3 (KS Bharat 93, Sambit Baral 2-32) v Odisha.
- Jharkhand 91-2 (Shikhar Mohan 42*, Saurav Kumar 1-15) v Nagaland.
- Tamil Nadu 252-4 (Pradosh Ranjan Paul 113, Nachiket Bhute 2-43) v Vidarbha.
- Baroda v Uttar Pradesh: No play possible on day one.
Elite Group B
Former India U19 captain Uday Saharan surprisingly replaced Naman Dhir as Punjab skipper, in just his third first-class match; but marked it with his maiden century in the format, against Goa. Rain and bad light meant only 27 overs were possible between Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Karnataka openers KV Aneesh and Mayank Agarwal made single digits against Kerala, but KL Shrijith (65) and Ravichandran Smaran (88 batting) scored half-centuries around a second consecutive Ranji Trophy ton for Test batter Karun Nair, who was unbeaten on 142 at stumps.

- Punjab 215-5 (Uday Saharan 100*, Deepraj Gaonkar 2-22) v Goa.
- Madhya Pradesh 64-1 (Harsh Gawli 32*, Jagjit Singh 1-14) v Chandigarh.
- Karnataka 319-3 (Karun Nair 142*, Nidheesh MD 1-41) v Kerala.
- Maharashtra v Saurashtra: No play possible on day one.
Elite Group C
After an early wicket, Bengal's Sudip Kumar Gharami (70*) and Shakir Habib Gandhi (82*) took their side to 171-1 by stumps. Bad light meant only nine overs were possible between Assam and Railways, while the first day of Gujarat-Haryana was washed out. Services' Vikas Yadav starred with 4-46 against Uttarakhand.

- Railways 39-0 (Suraj Ahuja 18*, Ayushman Malakar 0-1) v Assam.

- Gujarat v Haryana: No play possible on day one.
Elite Group D
Chhattisgarh's Ravi Kiran took two wickets in the first over of the day, but Jammu & Kashmir recovered to post 195 by the end of the day. Akash Vashisht scored a century for Himachal Pradesh against Hyderabad.
Delhi opener Sanat Sangwan continued his excellent start to the season with 99 against Puducherry, as Priyansh Arya made 40 off 30 on first-class debut. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 67 for Mumbai against Rajasthan, as wicketkeeper Kunal Rathore held six catches; one shy of the Ranji Trophy record.

- Jammu & Kashmir 195-4 (Shubham Khajuria 78*, Ravi Kiran 3-29) v Chhattisgarh.
- Delhi 248-6 (Sanat Sangwan 99, Abin Mathew 3-47) v Puducherry.
- Mumbai 254 (Yashasvi Jaiswal 67, Kukna Ajay Singh 4-66) v Rajasthan 10-0 (Sachin Yadav 7*, Shardul Thakur 0-2).
- Himachal Pradesh 293-7 (Akash Vashisht 114*, Rohit Rayudu 3-51) v Hyderabad.
Plate Group
Only one of the three matches got underway on day one, thanks to rain. Against Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur openers Karnajit Yumnam (121*) and Ulenyai Khwairakpam (103) put on 211, a team-record first-class partnership for any wicket. They were well and truly in a position of strength by stumps.
