Donovan Ferreira once again switched from keeping wicket to bowling between the SA20 clash between Joburg Super Kings and Durban Super Giants.
Ferreira, who had bowled a couple of overs with his off-spin, in between his role as wicketkeeper in an earlier clash of the tournament, once again took on the two roles in the game on Thursday (December 1). Initially listed as a keeper for JSK, Ferreira, who kept wickets for the first six overs of the innings, came on to bowl with Kane Williamson and Aiden Markram batting in the run chase. Set a target of 206, DSG were 56-2 after the powerplay, when Matthew de Villiers took over the wicketkeeping duties from Ferreira.
The South Africa international went on to bowl all his four overs in a row, ending with 1-24, including the prized scalp of Klaasen, who scored 29 in 19 deliveries. Like the previous game, he took back the gloves from de Villiers, later playing a role in the game moving towards the Super Over.

The wicketkeeper-turned-bowler-turned-wicketkeeper, who had also scored 33 in 10 balls in the first innings with the bat, had another role to play in the exciting finish. DSG needed 15 off the final over, which was reduced to five off two.
Simon Harmer hit a four on the penultimate ball of the innings, with DSG now needing one off one. Wiaan Mulder sent down a good length delivery around the fifth stump, and Harmer was unable to make contact as the ball was collected by the keeper. The two batters attempted a tight single.
Ferreira, who had already taken his right glove off in anticipation of a quick run, caught the ball and successfully hit the striker’s end, dismissing Eathan Bosch. The game went into the Super Over - the first ever in SA20 history. JSK ended up winning the encounter after they chased down the target of six runs with ease.
Ferreira was named the Player of the Match for his all-round efforts.
