In Friday's T20 Blast 2025 match between Nottinghamshire and Lancashire, England Under-19 spinner Farhan Ahmed became the second-youngest man to claim a T20 hat-trick.
Batting first, Lancashire were skittled out for 126, with Farhan claiming a hat-trick off the innings' final three balls. He dismissed Luke Wood (5), Tom Aspinwall (0), and Mitchell Stanley (0), becoming the second-youngest to take a T20 hat-trick while also securing his maiden five-wicket haul (5-25). Lancashire's innings featured seven single-digit scores, with only Matthew Hurst (36) offering resistance.
In pursuit of the modest target, Nottinghamshire stumbled to 95-5 before Tom Moores's 42-ball 75 and Daniel Sams's unbeaten 17 off nine guided them home with four wickets and 28 balls to spare.
Farhan, an off-spinner, is the younger brother of England international Rehan Ahmed. Last year, he made history twice: first as the youngest-ever player to represent England at the U19 World Cup, and later as Nottinghamshire’s youngest debutant in the competition’s history.
