Delhi Capitals finally played Prithvi Shaw as an opener today and reaped the rewards as the right-hander, along with Warner, got DC off to a flying start.

After six overs, Delhi were 62-0, with Warner on 35 off 22 and Shaw on 24 off 15. Even after the end of the powerplay, the two openers kept the momentum going, scoring 29 off the next three overs to take DC to 91-0.

Mustafizur Rahman came on to bowl the tenth over, and created a chance off the very first ball. Warner hit one back at him, but the Bangladesh seamer dropped the tough return catch.

Two balls later, an equally if not tougher chance was created. This time, however, CSK converted it.

Warner premeditated a reverse-sweep off a slower ball on the stumps. He connected it decently and the ball seemed destined to go over short third where Matheesha Pathirana was stationed.

The Sri Lankan seamer, however, leapt almost like a goalkeeper to his right, and snatched the ball with his right hand. After taking the catch, he lay on the ground in disbelief for a moment as teammates including MS Dhoni came in for appreciation.

Warner was dismissed for 52 off 35.
