Against Welsh Fire at The Oval, Jordan Cox smashed 10 sixes in 29 balls to take the Oval Invincibles to 226-4, the highest score in history of The Hundred.
Jordan Cox equals Hundred record
Oval Invincibles openers Will Jacks (38 in 28 balls) and Tawanda Muyeye (33 in 15) added 76 in 39 balls for the first wicket after Welsh Fire captain Jonny Bairstow won the toss and opted to field.
Walking out at the fall of the first wicket, Cox faced 29 of the remaining 61 balls, smashing an astonishing 86 not out. His innings included three fours and 10 sixes. With the latter, he equalled the tournament record: Liam Livingstone had also hit 10 sixes (and three fours) in his 40-ball 92 not out for Birmingham Phoenix against Northern Superchargers at Headingley in 2021.
At 29 balls, Cox’s innings is also the joint-shortest in all T20 cricket to include at least 10 sixes. Abhishek Sharma had hit 11 sixes in 29 balls for Punjab against Meghalaya in 2024/25.
With Sam Curran (34 in 19) and Donovan Ferreira (18 in six) also joining in, the Invincibles raced to the highest total in the history of The Hundred – with four balls to spare. Tom Curran put David Payne’s first ball away for four to help them achieve that. A single followed, and Cox hit Payne for six, six, two to lift the Invincibles to 226-4 – a new record despite Matt Henry’s 20-39-2.
