David Warner surpassed Virat Kohli on the all-time T20 run-scorers’ list during The Hundred 2025 match between London Spirit and Manchester Originals on Monday (August 11).

Chasing the Originals’ 163-6, Warner gave the Spirit a solid start with a 51-ball 71, hitting 12 fours and a six. That was his second consecutive fifty in the tournament, having scored an unbeaten 70 off 45 balls in an eight-run win against Welsh Fire.

When Warner was dismissed in the 86th ball, the Spirit still needed 38 for victory. However, Josh Tongue (3-29), Sonny Baker (1-21), and Scott Currie (1-26) kept things tight at the death, restricting the Spirit to 153-6 – 10 runs short of the Originals’ total.

      Despite Warner’s half-century going in vain, he is currently the top scorer of the competition with 150 runs at an average of 75 and a strike rate of 141.50. He is closely followed by Originals captain Phil Salt, who has 132 runs at an average of 44 and a strike rate of 141.93.

      David Warner rises to fifth on T20 run-scorers' list

      Warner has also risen to fifth on the all-time T20 run-scorers' list with 13,545 runs, surpassing Virat Kohli, who has 13,543 runs. Kohli's last T20 match was the IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings, which his team Royal Challengers Bengaluru, went on to win.

      Chris Gayle, the first player to reach 10,000 T20 runs, currently tops the run-scorers' chart with 14,562 runs. He is closely followed by Kieron Pollard in second place with 13,854 runs.

      However, among the fastest players to reach 10,000 T20 runs, third-ranked Kohli leads fourth-ranked Warner, having achieved the feat in 299 innings compared to Warner’s 303. Pakistan’s Babar Azam is the fastest, reaching the milestone in 271 innings, followed by Gayle in second place with 285 innings.
