The Hundred 2025 gets underway from August 5. Here is the full list of men’s and women’s captains for this year’s competition.
The upcoming edition of The Hundred will be its fifth, having started in 2020. A total of 32 group matches will be played between August 5 and 28 in each of the men’s and women’s competitions, followed by the Eliminator on August 30 and the final on August 31.
The Eliminator will feature the second and third-placed teams from the group stage, with the winners advancing to the final to face the group’s table-toppers.
Eight city-based teams will compete in the 100-ball tournament: Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Oval Invincibles, Southern Brave, Trent Rockets, and Welsh Fire.

Which teams have changed their captains in The Hundred 2025?
Trent Rockets have named David Willey and Ashleigh Gardner as their men’s and women’s captains, respectively. Willey replaces all-rounder Lewis Gregory, while Gardner takes over from Nat Sciver-Brunt, who stepped down to manage her workload ahead of the Women’s World Cup in two months time.
Manchester Originals also made leadership changes, appointing Phil Salt and Beth Mooney as captains. Salt replaces the former England white-ball skipper, Jos Buttler, who held the role in 2023 and 2024, while Mooney succeeds Sophie Ecclestone, who has led the women’s side for the past two seasons.
Meanwhile, Liam Livingstone has taken over as Birmingham Phoenix’s men’s captain from Moeen Ali, who is set to retire after the T20 Blast. Kane Williamson will lead the London Spirit men’s team this year, replacing Dan Lawrence, while Charlie Dean has been named women’s captain in place of the injured Heather Knight.
