Mohammad Amir picked up the wickets of Harry Brook and Mitchell Marsh in a space of five balls to help Trent Rockets beat Sunrisers Leeds by five runs.

Two wickets for 20 runs in as many deliveries doesn’t really sound extraordinary. But when coupled with the context, Amir’s figures made the difference of four points for the Rockets on Sunday, handing them their fourth victory in five games in The Hundred men's 2026.
The Rockets got to a competitive 146-4 from their 100 deliveries on the back of a 47-ball 64 from Ben Duckett. Aneurin Donald’s 19-ball 40 added fuel to the fire, helping them past the 140-run mark. However, Sunrisers Leeds seemed in complete control of the chase until Amir decided to wreak havoc.
The retired Pakistan speedster opened the bowling in the defence, and the second ball was tonked by Mitchell Marsh for a huge maximum but conceded just one more run off the other five deliveries. He was brought on again after the 20-delivery mark, where he gave away only four runs.
Credits to Marsh and Brook, the match got to a situation from where the Sunrisers required 35 off 20 deliveries - an easy chase for two set batters in today’s day and age. But Amir had different plans. The left-arm pacer bowled 10 deliveries on the trot, giving away as many runs in exchange of the wickets of both Marsh and Brook to leave Sunrisers needing 25 off 10 and two new batters in the middle.
Matt Henry then gave away just nine runs, and with 16 required off the last five deliveries, it was always going to be too much after Lewis Gregory gave away just four off the first three balls.
Amir has scalped five wickets in as many matches in this edition of The Hundred, and his performance against the Sunrisers was his best so far.
