What were the talking points in SB vs SRL, Men’s Hundred, match 5?
After being put in to bat in match 5 of The Hundred 2026, the Sunrisers cruised to a 111-run opening partnership between Mitchell Marsh and Ryan Rickelton. However, they got to 187-5 after a crucial contribution from Dan Lawrence after Harry Brook and Zak Crawley failed to make a mark. Adil Rashid spun a web around the Sunrisers, conceding only 21 and dismissing all of Marsh, Brook and Crawley.
In reply, the Brave had decent partnerships, but couldn’t stamp their authority on the game. Openers Jamie Smith and Ben McKinney stitched 67 for the opening wicket after a 16-ball 31 from Marcus Stoinis. Tristan Stubbs attempted a late surge with a 20-ball 43 not out but couldn’t take Brave over the line. Abrar Ahmed picked two wickets for the Sunrisers.

Mitchell Marsh scored a 34-ball 69 to couple Rickelton’s 27-ball 37 for the Sunrisers. However, the late flourish came from Dan Lawrence (25-ball 51*) and Tom Alsop, who scored a cameo (10-ball 21) towards the end of the innings. Adil Rashid’s three-wicket haul was the highlight for Brave.
The Brave started well, but left too much for too late. Stubbs’ unbeaten 20-ball 43 couldn’t help them register their first win of the season. For the Sunrisers, Abrar was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets in exchange of 33 runs.

Welsh Fire were in deep trouble against MI London, if not for Rachin Ravindra. Coming to bat at 20-2 after 22 deliveries, he went on to score 98 runs off 44 balls, single-handedly taking them to 167-5. Trent Boult, Richard Gleeson, Rashid Khan and Tom Curran each picked a wicket for MI London.
James Vince's 38-ball 66 was the only positive from MI London’s batting innings. Apart from an 18-ball 24 from Sherfane Rutherford, none of the other batters could make an impact. Lockie Ferguson struck gold with a four-wicket haul, conceding just 27 runs off his 20 deliveries.

Ravindra did not just contribute with the bat but also got rid of a well-set Vince with a stunning return catch. Due to these performances, he was adjudged as the Player of the Match.
Vince’s 38-ball 66 comprised seven fours and four sixes, and kept MI London in the fight. That being said, it was Lockie Ferguson who completely derailed the MI London innings with his four-wicket haul in exchange of a mere 27 runs in Cardiff.
