Southern Brave put up 135-7 after Welsh Fire captain Phil Salt won the toss and opted to field at the Rose Bowl. Thomas Rew (41 in 30 balls) provided a brisk start, while David Miller took 35 balls for his 44. For the Fire, Marco Jansen took 2-17 from 20 balls and Matt Short 1-5 from 10.
In response, Salt (47 not out in 37) stayed put until the chase was completed as Short (20 in 15) and Rachin Ravindra (24 in 15) got quick runs at the other end. Nikhil Chaudhary (2-19 in 15 balls) was the best bowler for the Brave, while Jofra Archer returned 20-22-0.
Joe Root had an off day for the hosts, conceding 18 wicketless runs from 10 balls and making a run-a-ball 15.
