MI London were in control of the 127-run chase for the most part, but lost control after captain, Hollie Armitage, was dismissed. Dani Wyatt-Hodge could not get into fourth gear during her laboured knock of 52* off 42 deliveries while Armitage (27) also struggled to hit boundaries regularly.
Southern Brave’s bowlers were superb as they took the game deep, despite only picking up three wickets. Issy Wong was the pick of the lot, taking the crucial wicket of Hayley Matthews.

Matthews was at her best in this game as an all-rounder, picking up four wickets with the ball and scoring 32 runs off 28 balls opening the innings. But it was Jemimah Rodrigues who was named Player of the Match for her 32-run knock off 22 balls, scoring the most freely of any batter in the game. Lauren Bell, who defended eight runs off her last five balls, conceding only six runs, was also excellent in a losing cause.
