India batter Devdutt Padikkal continued his breathtaking form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26, hitting his fourth century in five innings across the last ten days.
Devdutt Padikkal hits yet another century
Padikkal possesses an enviable List A record, perhaps one of the finest by any player who hasn't featured in ODI cricket. He has played a couple of T20Is for India, and continues to be in Test contention, but his fifty-over form has now made a serious case for ODI inclusion too.

Before his century against Tripura, Padikkal's scores this season read: 147, 124, 22 and 113. His List A average is currently close to the mid-80s, putting him at the top among anyone with at least 2,000 runs in the format. With the innings, he also crossed 2,500 runs in his 38th game, having made his debut in 2019.
Padikkal has been opening alongside Mayank Agarwal for Karnataka, and is comfortably leading the run-charts at the Vijay Hazare Trophy this season, with a strike-rate of 100+. He now has 13 centuries in 37 innings (all in the VHT).
Against Tripura, Padikkal found himself rebuilding the innings after Mayank (5) and Karun Nair (0) departed in quick succession. He first put on a steady stand with R Smaran (60), and then with KL Rahul (35), powering Karnataka towards a 300+ total. He brought up his century in 106 balls, with eight fours and three sixes at that point.

Abhinav Manohar then came in to provide a late flourish as Padikkal took the backseat. The left-hander was dismissed in the 45th over, finishing on 108 off 120.
After the innings, his List A average stands at 83.38.
Elsewhere, Hardik Pandya hit a 68-ball century for Baroda, while Prithvi Shawcontinued his good run with 71 for Maharashtra against his former team Mumbai.
