Baroda's Amit Pasi smashed a century in just his second List A game today (December 31), a Vijay Hazare Trophy encounter against Hyderabad.
Amit Pasi follows T20 debut hundred with rapid List A ton
Pasi made his T20 debut for Baroda in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and had a memorable outing. Opening the batting against Services, the 26-year-old keeper-batter smashed 10 fours and nine sixes en route to a 55-ball 114.
He equalled Bilal Asif's world record for the highest score on T20 debut in the process, also becoming just the 10th player to score a ton on men's T20 debut.
Interestingly, that was the only match Pasi played in the 2025 SMAT. He then made his List A debut last week against Assam, where he was dismissed for a modest 11, though it came off only five balls.
Today, playing just his second match, he repeated his T20 debut heroics. Opening the batting alongside Nitya Pandya, Pasi smashed a 64-ball hundred to finish on 127 off 93. Together, they stitched a 230-run opening partnership in 30 overs. Baroda captain Krunal Pandya joined in the fun as well, also hitting a hundred as they made 417-4 in 50 overs.
Hyderabad gave Baroda a scare in the chase, but the target proved too big in the end as they were bowled out for 380.

While it's as small a sample size as it can be, Pasi's senior career record has an incredible look to it. Having hit a hundred in his only T20, he averages 114 and strikes at 207.27 in the format, while his List A average and strike rate read 69 and 140.81.
Pasi has been around the Baroda cricket circuit for a while now, but a break in the senior team took a long time coming. Following his T20 debut, he told Sportstar that he had contemplated leaving the sport: “There was a time when I thought of quitting the game, and even moved on to coaching. Because after waiting in the wings for nearly nine years, I started doubting myself and kept wondering, ‘why is it happening to me?’”
Now that his time has finally come, Pasi would be looking to make the most of it.
