Babar Azam has slipped out of the top two of the ICC ODI batting rankings for the first time since 2020.
Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan move down in ICC ODI rankings
Babar went through three ODIs in the West Indies without registering a 50-plus score. In the first match, he came close, making 47, but couldn't get started in the next two, getting out for a duck and a 23-ball nine off the bowling of Jayden Seales. The twin failures have seen him lose out on his second spot on the ICC men's ODI batting rankings, with the beneficiary being India captain Rohit Sharma, who has moved up one spot, joining opening partner and new India Test captain Shubman Gill in the top two.
The last time Babar Azam was situated outside the top two in the ICC ODI batting rankings was on November 3, 2020.

The only other movement in the top 20 of the batting rankings has been Travis Head moving up one spot to joint-12th with Keacy Carty. Meanwhile, Pakistan ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan has also slipped down the rankings, moving from 21 to joint-22nd along with Joe Root. Rizwan scored 53 in the first match of the series against West Indies, but made only 16 and 0 in the second and third games.
Jayden Seales leaps up 24 spots after record performance
The 23-year-old quick registered third-best figures by a West Indies bowler in men's ODIs when he ran through Pakistan to take 6-18 in the third match of the series. Before that, he had also picked up 3-23 and 1-59 in the first two ODIs, taking his tally for the series to 10. This impressive performance has seen Seales jump up 24 spots on the ICC men's ODI bowling rankings to No.33.
Gudakesh Motie, who picked four wickets in the three Pakistan ODIs, has risen to No.12, gaining five spots and pushing Shaheen Afridi down by one - to No.13. Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana continues to sit atop the bowling rankings, followed by Kuldeep Yadav and Keshav Maharaj.
While there's been no movement in the top 10 of the ICC men's ODI all-rounder rankings, West Indies Test captain Roston Chase has improved significantly, moving from No.40 to No.28 after his impressive outing in the Pakistan ODIs, where he picked up three wickets and scored 138 runs.
