Shamar Joseph of West Indies celebrates the dismissal of Lizaad Williams of South Africa during the 2nd T20i match between West Indies and South Africa at Brian Lara Cricket Academy Stadium in Tarouba, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, on August 25, 2024

With less than 10 hours remaining before the series opener, West Indies have announced their squad for the three T20Is against Pakistan in Florida.

The hosts have made four changes to the squad that suffered a 0-5 whitewash against Australia at home. With the final match of that series concluding just two days ago on July 29, the hosts face a quick turnaround before their T20I series against Pakistan begins this Thursday (July 31) at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Florida.

West Indies have brought in pacer Shamar Joseph along with batters Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, and Johnson Charles, replacing Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Brandon King, and Shimron Hetmyer, respectively.

Joseph has been rested to manage his workload, while Lewis, King, and Hetmyer are sidelined with fitness concerns. Lewis, who missed the fifth Australia T20I due to injury, remains unavailable and faces a race against time to recover before the ODI series begins on August 8. Karty, Lewis' replacement for the final Australia T20I, has been retained. Both Hetmyer and King are recovering from side strains.

Shamar, who claimed 22 wickets at 14.95 in the home Tests against Australia, makes his T20I comeback for the first time since November 2024. Charles returns after last featuring in West Indies' 0-3 away T20I defeat against England in June, while Athanaze earns a recall, having last played a Test against Pakistan in January.

The second T20I will be played on August 2, followed by the third on August 3 - both in Florida as well. After the T20I series, West Indies will host Pakistan for three ODIs on August 8, 10, and 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
