      Both sides named their playing XIs a day ahead of the match. Australia have promoted Marnus Labuschagne to open for the first time in Test cricket, with Cameron Green slotting in at No.3. Beau Webster has also earned a spot after impressing in Test cricket over the last six months or so.

      South Africa, meanwhile, have opted to bat all-rounder Wiaan Mulder at No.3, and play Lungi Ngidi as the third pacer alongside Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada.
