Pakistan will travel to Bangladesh for two Test matches, both of which will be a part of the 2025-27 WTC cycle. The hosts will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto - though his fitness is yet to be confirmed - while Pakistan will have Shan Masood at the helm. Several uncapped players have also been picked from the two teams - Tanzid Hasan and Amite Hasan from Bangladesh, and Abdullah Fazal, Azan Awais, Amad Butt and Ghazi Ghori from Pakistan.
The first Test will be played from May 8 in Dhaka, while Sylhet will host the second match from May 16.
WTC 2025-27: What is the points table before BAN vs PAK?
Bangladesh currently occupy the eighth place in the points table, with one loss and a draw from the two matches completed under the ongoing World Test Championship. Their only series in the cycle has been against Sri Lanka last year, away from home. They have four points, with a points percentage of 16.67%.
Pakistan, on the other hand, are currently at No.5 in the table, with one win and a draw from two Tests against South Africa. It has given them a PCT of 50%, and they are behind Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka in the table.
England are the only team to have been deducted points for slow over-rate in the WTC cycle so far, getting penalised two points for slow over-rate against India last year.
