New Zealand defeated Zimbabwe 2-0 in the recently concluded two-match series: here are the updated ICC Test team rankings following the two ZIM vs NZ games.
New Zealand won the first match by nine wickets after Zimbabwe barely avoided an innings defeat to set them a target of eight runs. In the second match, the vsitors first bowled out the hosts for 125 on day one before declaring at 601-3 in the first innings. Zimbabwe could only manage 117 in their second dig, succumbing to the third-biggest margin of defeat in Test cricket - and innings and 359 runs.
The series marked the return of former Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor, who came back to international cricket after a four-year long gap, primarily due to a fixing-related ban. New Zealand, on the other hand, handed out debuts to several quicks. Zakary Foulkes, one of the fast bowlers who played their first Test match on this tour, registered the best match figures on debut by a New Zealand bowler.

This series was played outside of the World Test Championship cycle, and didn't affect the 2025-27 WTC standings. However, the result has caused a minor change to the ICC Test rankings.

New Zealand have gained one rating point and Zimbabwe have lost two following the 2-0 result in the visitors' favour. However, no team has moved from their pre-series position on the rankings table: New Zealand remain fifth, below India, and Zimbabwe are last, below Afghanistan.
