So, it may seem like a one-sided game, but what a performance it was from Harry Brook early on. Only if someone from the top order had helped him, England would have made it more competitive. But this is how England are doing in recent times. Do-or-die kind of cricket. That is all from this game. The Women's are in action in the ICC Womens World Cup. You can switch the tabs and join us there. From here, these two will meet again on the 29th of this month at 1 am GMT. You can join us earlier for the build up. Till then, cheers!

Mitchell Santner, the captain of New Zealand says wickets in the Powerplay are always great. Shares Matt Henry and Zakary Foulkes were outstanding, it's always a nightmare facing them. Mentions there was still a bit in the surface, they lost wickets in the Powerplay but they needed one big partnership and Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell did the job.

Harry Brook wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. The English skipper says he was in good touch, despite the team not getting a good start, he tried to counterpunch. Tells that he has done this a few times, it's either do or die but today it worked for him and they ended with a good total on the board. Shares 220 was defendable, they started well with the ball but failed to take wickets in the middle stage of the innings which is the talking point in the ODI format for a long time. Admits they were aware of the conditions, with the ball seaming around, credits the Kiwi bowlers and feels they could have put some pressure back on their bowlers.

      Presentation...

Credit to the Kiwi bowlers for doing an amazing job. After opting to bowl first, the Kiwis' front-line seamers got the ground running right from the first over. Earlier, New Zealand's exceptional bowling display restricted England to 223 runs in 36 overs. The Black Caps' relentless attack reduced England to 56/6 early on, but Jamie Overton and Harry Brook recovered with a 87-run partnership. Brook's explosive 135 (101 balls, 11 sixes) anchored England's total, despite falling short of a big score. Mitchell Santner gave Matt Henry and Zakary Foulkes gave prolonged spells and why not, as they were making England dance to their music.

The task wasn't complete yet. After Michael Bracewell departed, England seemed to gain a slight foothold, but Mitchell Santner seized the opportunity, adapting to the conditions and hitting a couple of sixes to reduce the deficit to 20. This paved the way for Daryl Mitchell to finish the job, securing the home team to start the series on a high note.

The home team starts the 3-match ODI series with a comfortable win. The tricky total required a backbone, and after slumping to 24/3 within the Powerplay, New Zealand relied on Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell to turn the tide. Their crucial 92-run partnership ultimately put the game to bed, shifting momentum firmly in New Zealand's favor.
