The player auction for The Men's Hundred was held on March 12. Here are the ten most expensive cricketers bought at the auction.
The 2026 edition of The Hundred is the first time the tournament hosted auctions, with previous editions featuring drafts. The Women’s Hundred auction was held on March 11, at the Piccadilly Lights in Central London. On March 12, the Men’s Hundred auction was held at the same venue.

As per the auction rules, each of the eight franchises needed squads from 14 to 16 members including the players they had already retained or signed up directly before the auction.

Joe Root, the first name of the day, went to Trent Rockets for £240,000. That number was exceeded twice soon after, by the next two players to come under the gavel: Southern Brave got Adil Rashid for £260,000, following which Welsh Fire acquired Jordan Cox for £300,000. Tom Curran threatened to go past Cox, but MI London eventually got him for £260,000.
All four finished the day in the top five, which was eventually topped by James Coles, the uncapped Sussex all-rounder– he was the subject of a frantic bidding war before London Spirit finally got him for £390,000.
