Monty Panesar

Monty Panesar’s 5-30 helped Campbelltown Camden 4th beat Hawkesbury 4th by 135 runs in the Reid Cup in Sydney Fourth Grade Cricket.

Ahead of the first Test match of the ongoing Ashes, Panesar was in the news when he got involved in a rather unusual war of words with stand-in Australian captain Steve Smith.

After the first Test, Panesar was in the news again when he took field for the Campbelltown Camden 4th against Hawkesbury 4th at Raby. Ahead of the game, Campbelltown Camden 4th were placed at the bottom of the Reid Cup (Sydney Fourth Grade League Cricket) points table.

Panesar played the last of his 50 Test matches during the 2013/14 Ashes in Australia. He had played for Campbelltown Camden before, and was recruited as a spin-bowling consultant by Cricket Australia for a tour of India.

Panesar ‘still got it’
