Archie Vaughan, who was playing second-grade cricket in Australia earlier this year, picked up a four-for in a match-winning effort after being promoted to the firsts.
The son of Michael Vaughan, Archie, has made a promising start to his career. In 18 first-class games, he has 35 wickets and 625 runs, including two fifties and three five-fors, while he has 469 List A runs - including a hundred - along with five wickets. The Somerset all-rounder, who made his professional debut last year, has also represented England in under-19 cricket, leading them in two matches.
Archie Vaughan plays grade cricket in Australia
Vaughan was selected to play second-grade cricket for Mosman in October and made his club cricket debut in a two-day game in the Albert Cup. He scored 51 and seven while also picking up two wickets. He was then promoted to the first XI, where he has played eight games so far.
His best performance so far came on Saturday, when he took on Manly Warringah in the One-Day Belvidere Cup at the Mosman Park. Batting first, his team - Mosman - piled on 378-8, with Vaughan scoring 14 off six while batting at number eight. Manly Warringah got off to a flier, with opener Matt Brewster making 61 in 32 balls, and Oliver Davis scoring 83 in 40. Cooper Johnston picked up the first three wickets to fall, before Archie got into the act - he picked up the next three wickets to fall before returning for a fourth, eventually ending with 4-62 in the win.
Overall, he has scored 209 runs in the current club cricket season across formats and picked up 12 wickets.
