West Indies won the third T20I to win the series against Bangladesh 3-0. How did it affect the ICC T20I team rankings?
In the first T20I, West Indies posted 165-3, thanks to Rovman Powell’s unbeaten 44 off 28 balls, before bowling out Bangladesh for 149. Romario Shepherd starred in the second match, scoring 13 off 16 and taking 3-29, to help the visitors win by 14 runs. In the third T20I, Shepherd became the second West Indies player after Jason Holder to take a hat-trick, while twin fifties from Roston Chase and Ackeem Auguste helped West Indies win the match and complete a 3-0 series clean sweep.
This whitewash by the West Indies is a reversal of fortune from their last meeting in December last year, when Bangladesh achieved the same 3-0 result against them. That victory marked Bangladesh's first overseas three-match T20I series whitewash against a Full Member nation.
A reverse sweep!🧹😉

The win was a relief for the West Indies, who had lost their previous seven bilateral T20I series. For Bangladesh, who arrived with a four-bilateral series winning streak, the defeat is a tough one to take.
In the latest ICC men's T20I team rankings, West Indies hold sixth place with a rating of 237. They are followed by Pakistan (233) in seventh and Sri Lanka (230) in eighth. Bangladesh are ranked ninth with 223 points. At the top, India and Australia – currently contesting a five-match T20I series – occupy first and second place respectively.
