Chasing 514 in the fourth innings, Warwickshire’s innings was spearheaded by Arjun Nahal’s unbeaten century from No.6. Hamza Shaikh (84), Vansh Jani (68) and Oliver Dandy (62) also played their part. The chasing team were then derailed with a stellar spell from Glamorgan spinner Mo Rizvi, pushing the match to a nail-biter.

Warwickshire, with one wicket remaining, needed just two runs to complete a herculean chase as Rizvi bowled his 29th over of the innings. Off the last ball, No. 11 batter Arafat Bhuiyan attempted a hoick across the line but was beaten in flight, losing his stumps. Rizvi finished with 5-88, as Nahal’s unbeaten 125 off 203 balls went in vain.

For Glamorgan, their two century-makers were Alex Horton (186 in the first innings) and Eddie Byrom (135 not out in the second innings).

After losing their first match in the Second XI Championship, the win helped Glamorgan open their account in Group 3, moving to third, behind unbeaten leaders Durham and Middlesex. Meanwhile, Warwickshire have lost two consecutive matches and sit sixth, in the bottom position in the group. Lancashire and Northamptonshire lead Groups 1 and 2, respectively.
