Odisha CA vs Jammu & Kashmir

The Odisha vs J&K game saw the return of speedster Umran Malik. The 25-year-old quick, who had been fast-tracked to the national side after touching speeds in the 150s, was out for more than a year with injuries. Returning to competitive cricket after a long time, Malik did not show signs of rustiness, bowling Odisha opener Om Munde with his sixth ball of the day. While the first breakthrough was a drag-on, Malik followed up with a vicious in-dipper to castle the middle stump of Odisha captain and former CSK squad member Subhranshu Senapati with the next ball.

Malik only bowled 10 overs in the day, for 2-35. The two left-arm spinners Abid Mushtaq (4-95) and Vanshaj Sharma (4-90) shared the remaining wickets to keep Odisha down to 304, whose top-scorer was Rajesh Dhupar with 104 from No.5.
