South African rising star Jordan Hermann struck a century in the CSA Four-Day Series on Wednesday (December 10).

North West and Warriors faced off at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom from December 9, in the latest round of fixtures in Division One of the competition.

On the morning of day two (December 10), North West collapsed from 149-5 overnight to 160 all out as Matthew Boast finished with figures of 5-42. Jordan Hermann and Modiri Litheko opened the batting for the Warriors. Litheko was dismissed for three in the fourth over, before Muhammad Manack and captain Matthew de Villiers departed in quick succession to leave their side 59-3.
Hermann found some support in Sinethemba Qeshile as the pair went about repairing the innings. Hermann got to a half-century off 84 balls with a boundary off Dian Forrester. But Qeshile was dismissed for 21, and Senuran Muthusamy for 19 after tea as Warriors slipped to 152-5.
Patrick Kruger joined Hermann in the middle, and the left-handed opener eventually made it to a sixth first-class century off 171 balls, again with a boundary off Forrester. He carried on to score 134, before being trapped lbw by Wihan Lubbe. Warriors were 277-6 at stumps, leading by 117 runs.
The knock continued a fine run of form for Hermann in the longest format. His most recent first-class matches came for South Africa A on their tour of India last month; he made 71, 12, 26 and 91 in the two red-ball matches at an average of 50. Hermann also starred in the CSA T20 Challenge final in November, scoring 74 off 53 as Warriors won after a Super Over.
Only turning 24 last week, Hermann is the younger of two cricketing brothers. Rubin Hermann, 28, has played one ODI and six T20Is so far. Jordan is tipped for a big future, but is yet to debut in international cricket. He does have an SA20 century to his name, though.
