Jordan Hermann's century for South Africa A against New Zealand on Wednesday continued a stellar run of form between him and his brother Rubin.

In the third of three 50-over matches between the sides, South Africa skipper Marques Ackerman won the toss and chose to bat first after his side had chased in both of the previous games.

They lost their first wicket in the second over, as Rubin Hermann attempted to clear the in-field off Ben Lister, but only holed out to Adi Ashok inside the ring. He was replaced at the crease by Jordan, his younger brother. Jordan copped a painful blow off the first delivery he faced, as Lister got one to rear up and hit him on the forearm.
Thereafter though, he looked untroubled as he set about repairing the innings alongside Rivaldo Moonsamy. The pair put on 159 for the second wicket as Jordan scored a run-a-ball half-century and Moonsamy eventually made 73. Jordan got to a century off 102 balls, his fourth in List A cricket. This was Jordan's second century on the trot, after his unbeaten 101 took South Africa A over the line in the previous match.
Both brothers have excelled in this series. In game one, Rubin's lone hand, a career-best of 158 not out, took South Africa home in a tricky chase, and he set up the second one with 109 before Jordan's ton. Jordan finished with 186 not out in the third match, also a career-best, and the second time he has crossed 150 in a List A match.
The pair made headlines earlier this year as well, when they each struck a half-century in the same SA20 match, for opposing sides. Jordan also has an SA20 century to his name, for Sunrisers Eastern Cape in 2024. Rubin has been pre-signed by the Paarl Royals for the upcoming season while Jordan will be up for grabs in the player auction on September 9.
