The second round of the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament kicked off on August 22. The tournament, held in Chennai, acts as the traditional curtain-raiser for the Indian domestic season, giving teams the opportunity for a final tune-up before the Duleep Trophy and Ranji Trophy get underway.

In the first round, there were standout performances from a couple of established names in the form of Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan, while Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ayush Mhatre both surprised with the ball.

Qamran Iqbal (56 batting) and Musaif Aijaz (62 batting) have pushed their side to 149-1, after Baroda were bowled out for 76.
