Canada Under-19 bowled out Argentina Under-19 for 23 runs in the 2025 Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier and chased down the target in just five deliveries on Sunday (August 10).
Batting first at the Param Veer Sports Complex (Ground 2) in Georgia, Argentina U19 were bowled out for just 23 in 19.4 overs. None of their batters reached double figures, with as many as seven recording ducks. Of their 23 runs, seven came from extras. For Canada U19, Jagmandeep Paul was the chief destroyer, taking 6 for 7 in five overs, including three maidens.
With defeat imminent, Franz Bur took the new ball for Argentina, but the innings lasted just five deliveries. Senior team opener and current U19 captain Yuvraj Samra smashed two fours and as many sixes in the four deliveries he faced, sealing the chase without any hiccups. His opening partner, Dharm Patel, remained unbeaten on 1.

Where does the Canada-Argentina U19 match stand in Youth ODI records?
In Youth ODIs, the record for the lowest total a team has been bowled out for belongs to Scotland’s 22 against Australia in the 2004 Under-19 World Cup. On that occasion, Australia chased down the target in just 3.5 overs, a record that still stands for the fastest chase in terms of overs remaining in the format.
However, the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier, of which the Argentina-Canada match was a part of, does not have Youth ODI status. Had the game held the official format status, Argentina’s 23 in the first innings would have been the second-lowest Youth ODI all-out total, while Canada's chase, completed in just five deliveries, would have been the fastest.
After the victory, Canada U19 are second in the points table with one win and one loss while USA U19 are at first place with two wins out of two. Bermuda U19 (one win, one loss) and Argentina U19 (zero wins, two losses) are third and fourth.
