Last year, Jaiswal also broke the record of hitting the most sixes in a calendar year. He finished with 36 maximums, breaking Brendon McCullum’s ten-year record.
Jaiswal’s average of 50.20 is also the fourth-highest amongst Indians with at least 2,000 Test runs, after Sachin Tendulkar (53.78), Rahul Dravid (52.31) and Sunil Gavaskar (51.12). Jaiswal, who has Test hundreds in four of the five countries he has played in, achieved his career-best ICC Test batting ranking of No.2 last November. He is currently ranked No.5 in the latest update, with his highest rating point of 858 being achieved during the recent England series, where he scored 411 runs in five Tests.
